About the program "Russian VR Seasons"
In 2017 for a second time, Ekaterinburg will host the Ural Open Festival of Russian Cinema. The program of 360 VR movies "Russian VR Seasons" will be presented for the first time. Early in this year movies of the program were shown at 70 Cannes Film Festival and at 39 Moscow IFF.
VR cinema demonstrations will be held from 3 – 7 of September in the Yeltsin Centre, one of the most innovative cultural centers in Russia.
Spectators will see VR movies made by international filmmakers in the specially equipped cinema with simultaneous VR demonstrations in more than 30 Gear VRs.


The cinematic VR film genre is a unique niche at the juncture of cutting edge technology and traditional art of film. And that is why the key film festivals around the world have already began paying attention to VR films. Russia is producing examples of high-quality works at an international level. Our goal is make sure these works are noticed not only on the Russian market, but on the international one as well
