Russian VR Seasons
At 2nd Uralkinofest
In 2017 for the second time Ekaterinburg hosted the Ural Open Festival of Russian Cinema. The program of 360 VR movies "Russian VR Seasons" was presented for the first time. Early in this year movies of the program were shown at 70 Cannes Film Festival and at 39 Moscow IFF. VR cinema demonstrations were held from 3 – 7 of September in the Yeltsin Centre, one of the most innovative cultural centers in Russia. Spectators watched VR movies made by international filmmakers in the specially equipped cinema with simultaneous VR demonstrations in more than 30 Gear VRs.
The program featured films by Russian studios and independent filmmakers experimenting in the field of spherical cinema and VR, as well as bright examples of foreign films that already attracted attention to themselves on major international venues
